The title of the book, Odyssey of the Butterfly, by Fran Heckrotte, caught my eye because I love butterflies and I wanted something new to read. The book consisted of five complete stories each involving butterflies to more or less degree. The writer had me in the story both feet right from the beginning and I like the way she acquainted you with the characters.Fran Heckrotte was unknown to me before this read, but no more. She is really intelligent, smart, highly imaginative, and puts all her skills to work for her in her writing. Her work is a good read! I found each story so different and interesting, and the only similarity in them was the obvious inclusion to the extent or mention of the butterfly hence the book title.
My most appreciative and admired note to the author, Fran Heckrotte, is her finite ability to take one simple thin thread as delicate as a butterfly wing and merge all five of these stories into one fictional novel and pleasing entertainment. And that was no small task; from the beginning of the book each story takes the reader through new times, new cultures, and even new WORLDS!., and takes you back to the beginning again to end.
Now I have finished reading Odyssey of the Butterfly and I close the book. I sigh, smile, and lean back in my chair. I was content with the story ending, and there were no lingering questions on which to wonder. It was a true adventure. And I loved the way the author, being the talented artist that that she is, tied that delicate thread into such a pleasing little bow marking "The End."

It was a good book and well written. The back and forth with the stories keep you wondering what is next.
